President’s report

Welcome, everyone to the new winter 2021 season, and a special welcome to all our new SEBC players and coaches.

After our long lockdown, it was great to be back at the court over summer. Without the incredible amount of work done by our coordinators and their assistants, it wouldn’t have been possible to get your players back onto the court in such a short turnaround.

I want to personally thank every single one of our volunteers for the time, effort and especially the dedication you put into the Saints.

That is not only to our committee members and coordinators but especially our coaches and team managers. Every hour put into the club is 100% unpaid, and without you, we would not be the great community that we are today.

This new Winter Season has seen us return to some normality:

  • Full grading period,
  • Regular training times and duration,
  • Return of a Finals Series and Grand Final.

With Grading now completed, all ladders have been reset and new fixtures released. As teams may still move during the upcoming rounds, it’s important you continue to check your fixture as changes may still occur.

While we are still in a Covid world, unless you are playing or coaching you will still be required to check-in with the QR Code at each venue – this is not only at each match but also at your training.

To also help make the work of our team managers a little easier, we are currently rolling out Teampay as an option for our weekly team payments.

The program will remove the need for chasing and collecting money each week and streamline the entire collection process. I want to thank the teams participating in our trial last season along with Kilsyth for their assistance. If your team is interested in using Teampay this season, please speak to your team manager.

As the committee continues to plan how we’d like Saints to emerge from Covid, we are always on the lookout for new ideas. If you have any thoughts or would like to be further involved with the club, you can let me know here.

Good luck for the new season and go Saints.

Jason Taylor
